2011 Year of the Forest – Critical for Pakistan – Urdu

Last month I’d uploaded a short by the same name which I’d originally made for a presentation last year. I received several suggestions that it would be a good idea to make it in Urdu as well. So here it is the Urdu version of the presentation “Year of the Forest – Critical for Pakistan.” I hope everyone finds it useful and helps to spread the word.

August 18th is the National Tree Planting Day (NTPD) aimed to address deforestation and associated environmental problems being faced by the nation. An event was organized to set a Guinness World Record (GWR) by planting maximum number of trees in a single day on July 15, 2009 in a barren island near Keti Bundar, where Pakistan had set a new World Record of planting 541,176 trees in a single day, breaking earlier World Record of 447,874 trees by India.
In recognition of this great achievement, August 18, 2009 was declared as National Tree Planting Day (NTPD).

I hope in 2011 in Pakistan, all previous records of tree plantation are broken. 🙂
But it’s not enough to plant trees. The right kind of tree has to be planted in the appropriate place. They have to be looked after during the first year or so until they can manage on their own. It’s a responsibility; it’s also a skill that can be easily learned.
